The May holiday weekend of 2016 marked the 20th year of Customs House Cigars. Some days it seems like 200 years have passed, but mostly it feels like yesterday.

I’ve seen a lot of changes over the years – from increased prices, ridiculous tax grabs, stupid government legislation restricting products, and federal, provincial and local laws that prevent us from enjoying our hobby in public.

It’s been challenging on the retail business side, but very rewarding for me personally. What’s kept me going is meeting so many devout cigar smokers and hearing their stories about their passion for—and their enjoyment of—premium cigars.

Since the cigar boom in the mid 90s, we have seen an explosion of premium cigars. Central America—Honduras and Nicaragua—is leading the way. Never has there been such variety of shapes and blends on our shelves.

Thank you friends and customers for your support during the ups and downs of the last 20 years. Through the 911 tragedy, SARS, our shrinking dollar, government interference and diabolical weather, we have persevered.
Thank you!

Black Lotus
This Black Lotus has roots in Canada as the brainchild of B.C.s Steve Ricker, owner of Dominion Cigars. Made in Honduras by the Tabacos De Oriente factory, it delivers medium to full-bodied flavor. The tobacco blend is a Honduran Habano wrapper over a Sumatra binder and Nicaraguan/Honduran filler. We carry toro (6 x 50) and robusto (5 x 50).
